Ensure the safety and integrity of your property with our cutting-edge Fire and Smoke Curtains, available in Sydney, Melbourne, and across Australia.  We provide unprecedented reliability and performance alongside complete unparalleled solutions.

Here at Smoke Control, we offer a range of Fire Curtains, both fully and partially insulated. Our range offers up to a -/240/- Fire Resistance Level (FRL) while our fully insulated fire curtains offer an FRL of up to  -/120/120, all in accordance with AS1530.4-2014. Our fire curtains have been smoke (air) leakage tested in accordance with AS1530.7-2007 to further ensure your safety.

Our Smoke Curtain range differs from our fire curtain range as they are tested for temperature resistance in lieu of fire compartmentation. We exceed the requirements of EN12101.1 and comply with the requirements of  the National Construction Code (NCC) and AS1668.1 Smoke Curtains/Baffles. At Smoke Control, we have a 21+ years of experience prioritising compliance and safety for when it matters most.

In 2003 Smoke Control coined the phrase Smoke Containment Screens.  This was necessary to identify that the test method for Smoke Curtain does not satisfy the Australian Building Code requirement for Smoke Doors.  This is because there is no smoke leakage testing of the smoke curtain system in EN12101.1.  Refer to our Smoke Curtain section for more information on this topic.  Smoke Curtains are permitted to be installed with gaps and do not necessarily have side guides, allowing significant leakage paths.  The NCC requires smoke doors in various applications. Smoke Containment Screens, similarly to fire doors, are required to be tested as a complete system in accordance with AS1530.7 -2007.  This test method can be used to demonstrate Smoke Doors and Smoke Containment Screens meet the intent of the NCC for Smoke Doors.

Smoke Control can also provide combination Fire Curtain and Smoke Containment Screens.  Please refer to our Fire Curtain page for more details.

The installation of fire and smoke curtains into modern buildings can be complex due to their interaction with other Essential Services. Smoke Control has therefore provided a detailed master specification individually for each product.  These specifications outline the key competencies required by both the product and the installation company. The master specification includes details such as maximum pressure resistance to determine suitability in a building with zone pressurisation, as well as the setup details for fire indicator panels and fire and smoke curtails alike. Properly incorporating these master specifications into your documentation ensures that Smoke Control will support the design of the fire and smoke curtain systems, guaranteeing successful commissioning and positive outcomes for your clients
