You might wonder why we don’t hand out test reports for every single product right on our website.

  • We prefer to supply the exact documentation needed for a specific project once we know its unique design and compliance requirements.
  • Smoke Control prides itself on its engineering, fire and smoke control expertise in our field. We don’t and never have oversold our systems. Our goal is to provide the most accurate and reliable solution for your project, which we believe can only occur through upfront, transparent discussions.
  • Products, particularly those that do not have supporting Product Standards, are more than just the fire rating. Specifying a product simply because the FRL in the report matches the Building Code is misleading and leaves the Fitness for Purpose open to interpretation.
  • We often see Architectural specifications that do not align with the Fire Engineers report and vice versa, which only leads to conflict and surprise costs at the end of the project. We have two full time engineers in our technical department to assist customers daily, with obligation free technical assistance – why not use it?

  • Smoke Control holds over 3000 approvals. It is not realistic or feasible to provide and maintain all of these on our website.
  • As part of our process, we provide a free service to assist design teams in defining the correct specification based on the project’s needs. Once that specification aligns with current approvals, we issue the relevant test report(s) to the appropriate stakeholders.
